EVENT DETAILS Course master: Mr. Jérôme Faucheur Time: 7:30pm to 9:45pm Venue: The Church of St Ignatius (King's Road) Cost: $20.00 Download the brochure here. The purpose of this workshop is to demonstrate how an organist performs his role in the context of the Catholic liturgy, especially the Mass. Through accompanying the people, solos and improvisations, the organist interprets liturgical texts, seasons and rites, adding an important dimension to our worship. The French organ tradition is especially rich in this respect, and we are indeed privileged to have someone from that tradition share with us his musical vocation. This workshop is an opportunity for us to encounter the organ afresh, to be inspired and to imagine new possibilities, for ourselves and our communities. |
